MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />CITY OF PARIS - CITY HALL <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 4, 2014 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Shawn Napier, Director of <br />Engineering, Planning and Development, at 12:02 p. m. <br />A. The following members were present: Bryan Glass, David Hamilton, Charles <br />Richards and Marilyn Smith <br />B. The following members were absent: Rick Hundley, Jerry Haning and Nathan J. <br />Bell V <br />C. Also present was Shawn Napier, Director of Engineering, Planning and <br />Development and Ashley Fendley, City Staff. <br />Motion was made by Charles Richards, Seconded by David Hamilton to elect Bryan Glass <br />as the Interim Chairman for the August 4, 2014 meeting. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (July 1, 2014) <br />Motion was made by David Hamilton, seconded by Marilyn Smith to approve minutes for <br />the July 1, 2014 meeting, with corrections. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Beverly Mitchell to grant <br />a variance of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Section 9 -301 (2) which provides that the <br />"minimum lot depth in a Commercial District (C) be no less than 100 feet" this petition is <br />to allow a minimum lot depth of 91 feet, which is a 9 foot variance, on Lot 19, City Block <br />91, being located at 719 N.E. 1st Street. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. Two individuals spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Beverly Mitchell, 719 1 st Street N.E., spoke in favor of the petition. Mrs. Mitchell <br />stated she was seeking approval for this variance for a resource management home. <br />Jim Mitchell, 920 1 st Street N.E., stated he is in favor of the petition. <br />
