MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, MAY 4, 2015 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, May 4, 2015, was called <br />to order at 5:30 p. in. by Holland Harper, Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: Jerry Akers, John Lee, Holland Harper, <br />James Price and Mike Folmar <br />B. The following members were absent: Barney Bray and Billy Trenado <br />C. Also present were Shawn Napier, Director of Engineering; Joey Sleeper, Building <br />Official; John Godwin, City Manager; Sue Lancaster, City Council; and Ashley <br />Fendley, Secretary for the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (April 6, 2015) <br />Motion was made by James Price, seconded by John Lee to approve minutes for the April <br />6, 2015 meeting. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Motion was made by Holland Harper, seconded by John Lee to move item number six up <br />on the agenda. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />6. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Chris Methvin for a <br />change in zoning from a General Retail District (GR) to a Commercial District (C) on Lot <br />25 & 26, Block 281, Johnson Woods Est. located at 3015 Clarksville Street. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. No one spoke in favor of the petition. <br />B. Six individuals spoke in opposition. <br />Don Haslam, 3140 Clark Lane Paris, Texas, Holland Harper read his letter so that it <br />would be on record in opposition of the petition. Mr. Haslam has concerns about <br />the increased likelihood of pedestrian/vehicle accidents involving residents of the <br />area and children/students. <br />Ed Pitts, 650 Twin Oaks Place Paris, Texas, Shawn Napier read his letter so that it <br />
