building. Mr. Denney also explained that the veneer for the new addition will also be <br />an exterior finish and insulation system designed to complement the adjacent <br />children's building. He also stated that the proposed fence would be a black metal <br />fence to match the existing fence on site. Commissioner Allcorn stated she felt the <br />proposed design was too much of a departure from the existing buildings on site. Mr. <br />Denney replied that the proposal was to complement the existing buildings rather than <br />match them. Commissioner Alsobrook stated that she felt the proposal included some <br />of the features of the existing buildings and looked consistent with the children's <br />building. Commissioner Ardila stated that she felt the design fit well in the historic <br />district and that the contemporary look of the glass wall of the lobby would help accent <br />the look of the historical elements. Motion was made by Commissioner Holbert and <br />seconded by Commissioner Alsobrook to approve the item as submitted. The motion <br />carried 6 -0. <br />4. Consideration of and action to extend the following items: <br />A. Certificate of Appropriateness 2014 -010, 124 SW 1 st, Richard Hunt <br />Chair Cox introduced the item and called the applicant, Richard Hunt. Mr. Hunt <br />explained that he received a certificate of appropriateness to remove the existing slip <br />cover facade and restore the window openings in the second floor at the subject <br />property. Due to delays caused by utility relocations and weather, he had not begun <br />construction. He requested an additional 12 months to complete the project. Motion <br />was made by Vice Chair Glatfelter and seconded by Commissioner Holbert to approve <br />the item as submitted. The motion carried 6 -0. <br />B. Fagade grant application, 124 SW 1St, Richard Hunt <br />Chair Cox introduced and sked Mr. Sleeper if there was adequate to cover the grant if <br />it was extended. Mr. Sleeper answered that there was adequate funds. Motion was <br />made by Vice Chair Glatfelter and seconded by Commissioner Allcorn to approve the <br />item as submitted. The motion carried 6 -0. <br />5. Adjournment <br />With no other matters to discuss, a motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner <br />Holbert and seconded by Commissioner Allcorn.
