David Turner stated that the PEDC should be taking a different direction on legal
services. Mr. Moore is an expert at billing, and is not from this community. He would like to
terminate Mr. Moore's relationship with the PEDC. Mr. Turner suggested that the PEDC talk to
Paris City Council about using City Attorney, Ms. Harris, for any legal matters and reimburse the
City for the legal services.
4:15 p.m. Mr. Hashmi and Guest left the meeting.
4:16 p.m. Mr. Hashmi came back for his phone.
David Turner moved to terminate services with attorney Jeff Moore.
Ray Banks seconded the motion.
Mr. Wilson brought up that Jeff Moore was working on a few pending legal matters for
the PEDC. This included: (1) a matter concerning Rick Hayes and (2) any corrections that Jeff
Moore would need to make on Mr. Defenbaugh's report.
Don Wilson called for a vote. Mr. Brockman pointed out Jeff Moore has billed a lot, but
has credentials equal to anyone in the state. Mr. Turner stated that Mr. Moore has the expertise to
help clients get around the rules. Mr. Brockman and Mr. Turner agreed to disagree.
Mr. Manning asked for a vote on the motion to terminate services with Jeff Moore. The
motion was carried. Mr. Wilson was the only "Nay ". Mr. Manning will notify Mr. Moore that
the PEDC will no longer need his services.
Don Wilson made a motion to adjourn at 4:34 p.m.; seconded by Ray Banks.
Meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Paula Brownfield
Administrative Assistant
Paris EDC
