1E' <br />Y• <br />Special Work Session <br />August 28, 2006 <br />Page 2 <br />The following amendments were made: <br />000145 <br />Council Member Freelen made a Motion to amend the budget to include $5,000.00 <br />for Lamar County Human Resources Council and Council Member Wilson seconded the <br />Motion. Motion carried, 7 ayes - 0 nays. <br />Council Member Ray made a Motion to amend the budget to increase the longevity <br />from $3.00 to $4.00 for non -civil service employees and Council Member Freelen seconded <br />the Motion. Motion carried, 7 ayes - 0 nays. <br />Council Member Gray made a Motion to amend the budget to increase the 3% raise <br />to a 4% raise across the board and Council Member Fisher seconded the Motion. Motion <br />carried, 5 ayes - 2 nays, with Council Member Fendley and Council Member Wilson casting <br />the dissenting votes. <br />Council Member Ray made a Motion to amend the budget by eliminating a car <br />allowance of $5,400.00 from the City Attorney and Council Member Freelen seconded the <br />Motion. Motion carried, 7 - ayes, 0 - nays. <br />Council Member Ray made a Motion to amend the budget by eliminating the car <br />allowance of $3,600.00 from Community Development and Council Member Fisher <br />seconded the Motion. Motion carried, 6 - ayes, 1 - nay, with Council Member Fendley <br />casting the dissenting vote. <br />Council Member Fendley made a Motion to amend the budget by transferring $500.00 <br />from the Police Department's miscellaneous line item to the 0512 account, which is for tire <br />repair. Council Member Gray seconded the Motion. Motion carried, 7 - ayes, 0 - nays. <br />4. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY <br />MANAGER'S PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006 -2007; MAKING <br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Fisher. <br />Tony suggested that Council might want to wait until the next meeting to set the <br />public hearing, since they had not finished discussion of the budget. The Motion failed for <br />
