SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS <br />July 17, 2007 <br />000433 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a special meeting at 5:00 P. M. Tuesday; <br />July 17, 2007, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufinan, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: Jesse James Freelen <br />Council Members: Will Biard; Mary Ann Fisher; Stephen <br />Brown; Don Wilson; and Bill Strathern, <br />Mayor Pro Tem <br />City Staff- Ernie Clark, Interim City Manager; Kent <br />McIlyar, City Attorney; and Janice Ellis, <br />City Clerk <br />Absent: Council Member: Kevin Gray <br />1. Mayor Freelen called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. <br />2. Convene in Executive Session pursuant to Sections 551.074 and 551.071 of the Texas <br />Government Code to: <br />A. Discuss and deliberate candidates for the position of City Manager. <br />B. Receive legal advice pertaining to the City Manager Search and Executive Search <br />Agreement with PACE. <br />Mayor Freelen convened Council into Executive Session at 5:05 p.m. <br />3. Reconvene in Open Session to take possible action regarding those matters discussed in the <br />Executive Session. <br />Mayor Freelen reconvened Council into open session at 7:08 p.m. and announced there was <br />no action to be taken at that time. <br />4. Possible future work session discussion items. <br />A. Resolution committing the community to Floodplain Management. <br />B. Ordinance providing that the Code of Ordinances be amended by adopting a new <br />Chapter 13 of said Code, adopting the Model Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance <br />from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). <br />A <br />
