� s <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />February 8, 2001 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session Thursday, February <br />8, 2001, 6:00 P. M., Paris Junior College, Applied Technology Building, Room <br />1016, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas. Mayor Michael Pfiester called the <br />meeting to order with the following Council Members present: John F. Bell, <br />Richard Manning, Joe E. McCarthy, John A. Carter, Jr., Kevin Gray and Benny <br />Plata. Also present were City Manager Michael E. Malone, City Attorney Larry <br />W. Schenk, and City Clerk Mattie Cunningham. <br />City Manager Malone presented the minutes of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission meeting held February 5, 2001, and attached hereto as Exhibit A <br />to these minutes. <br />City Manager Malone reported that there were two items on the Planning and <br />r Zoning Commission's agenda. One was a public hearing to consider the petition <br />of Tammie Green for a change in zoning from a Two - Family Dwelling District <br />(2F) to a One - Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF -3) With Specific Use Permit <br />(39) Mobile homes, Lot 34, City Block 160, located at 1117 3rd SE. The <br />Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of this petition with <br />a vote of 6 ayes, 1 nay. <br />City Manager Malone advised the City Council that the second matter that the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed was a petition for Mr. J. R. Lane for <br />a change in zoning from Agricultural District (A) to a Multiple - Family Dwelling <br />District No. 1 (MF -1) located in the 500 block of 19" SW. City Manager <br />Malone said the city had received a letter that the petition has been withdrawn, <br />so there will be no need to have a public hearing or action on Items 5 and 6, <br />which relates to the petition for Multiple- Family zoning. <br />Jerry Higgler, 849 4`' S. W., came forward and requested that everyone stand <br />who is opposing this zoning change. <br />Mayor Pfiester declared the public hearing open on the petition of Tammy <br />Green for a change in zoning from a Two - Family Dwelling District (2F) to a <br />
