Development you are talking about upscale houses that are going to have <br />probably two, if not three maybe .even four garages that are set on very large <br />lots. There is not going to be on street parking problems. Mr. Tidwell said in <br />his discussion with Mr. Schenk, that they had talked about the need for fire, <br />police, and garbage trucks getting down through those 28 foot streets. He <br />pointed out that the packet that he gave the City Council, he noted that there are <br />a number of different Paris Subdivision Code provisions (Appendix B) which <br />are going to apply to this, but essentially, he advised the City Council that he <br />thinks there is a conflict in the code. Mr. Tidwell said it is something that needs <br />to be addressed at some point in time where these builders that works so <br />diligently to try and increase the tax roll for the city. Mr. Tidwell said what they <br />are asking for is a reimbursement of $33,351.00 for the 11 foot overage of the <br />street. He said they were not asking for the extra land that has been taken in <br />because of this, it is strictly for the paving cost. Mr. Tidwell advised that this <br />is an equal protection claim. <br />Mayor Pfiester said he read all the information regarding this matter and to him, <br />there is one difference and that was when the plat was submitted to the Council <br />for approval, one of Earl Smith's recommendation for the Monte Moore <br />Development was that he widen the streets. He said that the plat submitted for <br />the Hills was dated on March 3, 2000 and in that letter there is no <br />recommendation. Mayor Pfiester said the street was proposed to be 60 feet and <br />he needs someone to show him where the City has asked for that over -size. <br />Mayor Pfiester called for the receipt of the annual audit report for the City of <br />Paris for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2000, prepared by McClanahan <br />& Holmes, Certified Public Accountants. <br />Gene Anderson, Director of Finance for the City of Paris, came forward <br />presenting the City Council with a copy of the annual audit. Mr. Anderson said <br />that under the City Charter there is a requirement that an annual audit and <br />financial statements be completed. Mr. Anderson said contained within the <br />Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the City is the Auditor's Report. <br />He called the City Council's attention to the second page where there is a table <br />
