" 161 <br />DWELLING DISTRICT NO.3 (SF -3) WITH SPECIFIC USE PERMIT (39) MOBILE HOME <br />SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY 1, 2000 <br />WAS PRESENTED. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Manning, seconded by Councilman Pfiester, for <br />adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Pfiester, seconded by Councilman Manning, <br />approving the Final Plat of Lot 1, City Block 306, being number 210 Stone Avenue. <br />The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Schenk presented the following petition for rezoning: L. P. Patterson, <br />Lot 14, City Block 226 -13, from a One - Family Dwelling District No.1 to a Two - Family <br />Dwelling District. <br />Mayor Neeley referred the petition to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their <br />study and recommendation at their meeting to be held February 7, 2000, and before <br />the City Council February 10, 2000. <br />Mayor Neeley announced that the next item on the agenda is consideration of and <br />action on confirming the City Manager's appointment of a Director of Public Works <br />effective the date of B. A. Huddleston's retirement. <br />City Manager Malone informed the City Council that Mr. Huddleston has informed <br />him that he would probably be retiring sometime this spring, and City Manager <br />Malone said he was very proud of the job Mr. Huddleston has done. City Manager <br />Malone advised that he encouraged Mr. Huddleston to stay as long as he wishes to. <br />City Manager Malone said he posted the position of Director of Public Works <br />internally several weeks ago, and after interviewing all the applicants, he named <br />Terry Townsend to become the Director of Public Works upon the effective date <br />that Mr. Huddleston retires. City Manager Malone submitted this action that he has <br />taken to the City Council for confirmation, and he also informed the City Council that <br />Mr. Townsend will continue to direct the Parks & Recreation Department. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Manning, seconded by Councilman Bell, <br />confirming the appointment of Terry Townsend as Director of Public Works upon <br />the retirement of Mr. B. A. Huddleston. The motion carried 5 ayes, 1 nay, <br />Councilman Gray voting no. <br />City Manager Malone informed the City Council that there is an examination for <br />Firefighters and Police Officer's. The Civil Service Commission has posted notice: <br />
