368 RESOLUTION NO. 99 -006 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of May, 1988, in Resolution No. 88 -044, authorize a 15 % penalty to be added to the delinquent tax accounts in accordance with Section 33.07 of the Texas Property Tax Code; and, WHEREAS, in order to add the 15 % penalty to tax accounts which are delinquent on July 1 of a year, it is necessary for the governing body to direct that the same be added thereto and that the governing body enter into contract with an attorney for the purpose of collection of the delinquent tax accounts; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City Attorney, Scott P. Foster, be authorized to procure legal services for the collection of delinquent taxes and to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, a Professional Service Contract for the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the City Attorney, Scott P. Foster be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to procure legal services for the collection of delinquent taxes and to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, a Professional Service Contract for the same.
