367 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 99 -005 <br />WHEREAS, the High Pres air compressor, Model Number HS- 6000- BA -E3, Serial <br />Number 89/1531%07, has been removed from service and is no longer being used by the City of <br />Paris Fire Department; and, <br />WHEREAS, said High Pres compressor still has value, but should be declared to be <br />surplus property to the City of Paris and disposed of in accordance with state law; and, <br />WHEREAS, Texas A &M University at Commerce, Texas, is establishing a fire academy <br />and fire degree program, and they are desirous of purchasing said High Pres compressor for use <br />in providing various training benefitting Paris and other cities across Northeast Texas, said <br />purchase being for $1.00 and the further consideration of allowing two (2) Paris recruits to attend <br />basic training at one -half (1/2) the regular price; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris that <br />said air compressor be declared surplus and donated to Texas A &M University; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the <br />High Pres air compressor, Model Number HS- 6000- BA -E3, Serial Number 89/1531/07, be, and <br />the same is hereby, declared to be surplus property; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the donation of said air compressor to Texas A &M <br />University for $1.00 and the further consideration of allowing two (2) Paris recruits to attend basic <br />training at one -half (1/2) the regular price, be, and the same is hereby, approved. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this the 11th day of January, 1999. <br />ATTEST: <br />Mattie Cunningham, City Cler <br />APPROVED AS O +ORM <br />Scott P. Foster, City Attorney <br />Resolution No. 99 -006, authorizing and directing the City Attorney, Scott P. Foster, <br />to procure legal services for the collection of delinquent taxes. and to execute on <br />behalf of the City of Paris a Professional Service Contract for the same, was <br />presented. A motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Councilman <br />Boyd, for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
