367 RESOLUTION NO. 99 -005 WHEREAS, the High Pres air compressor, Model Number HS- 6000- BA -E3, Serial Number 89/1531%07, has been removed from service and is no longer being used by the City of Paris Fire Department; and, WHEREAS, said High Pres compressor still has value, but should be declared to be surplus property to the City of Paris and disposed of in accordance with state law; and, WHEREAS, Texas A &M University at Commerce, Texas, is establishing a fire academy and fire degree program, and they are desirous of purchasing said High Pres compressor for use in providing various training benefitting Paris and other cities across Northeast Texas, said purchase being for $1.00 and the further consideration of allowing two (2) Paris recruits to attend basic training at one -half (1/2) the regular price; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris that said air compressor be declared surplus and donated to Texas A &M University; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the High Pres air compressor, Model Number HS- 6000- BA -E3, Serial Number 89/1531/07, be, and the same is hereby, declared to be surplus property; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the donation of said air compressor to Texas A &M University for $1.00 and the further consideration of allowing two (2) Paris recruits to attend basic training at one -half (1/2) the regular price, be, and the same is hereby, approved. PASSED AND ADOPTED this the 11th day of January, 1999. ATTEST: Mattie Cunningham, City Cler APPROVED AS O +ORM Scott P. Foster, City Attorney Resolution No. 99 -006, authorizing and directing the City Attorney, Scott P. Foster, to procure legal services for the collection of delinquent taxes. and to execute on behalf of the City of Paris a Professional Service Contract for the same, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Councilman Boyd, for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
