320 of Stephanie Harris by the City Attorney as Assistant City Attorney /Municipal Court Prosecutor. Lisa Wright, Legal Assistant, speaking for City Attorney Foster, advised the Council that they had been presented a copy of a letter that Mr. Foster addressed to Ms. Stephanie Harris outlining the basic job requirements, the job description, and the compensation for an Assistant City Attorney who would take care of the duties of the Municipal Court Prosecutor. Three resumes were received and a panel of five people 'were assembled who conducted the interviews. Ms. Harris was recommended to be hired for this part time position and Mr. Foster is seeking approval on this appointment. Ms. Wright introduced Ms. Harris to the City Council. Councilman Clifford pointed out that the Municipal Court cases have increased over the last 5 to 10 years and in looking at the County Courthouse in County Court and J.P. Court, they have basically a full time Prosecutor. After discussion, a motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Thomas, seconded by Councilman Clifford, approving the appointment of Stephanie Harris as Assistant City Attorney /Municipal Court Prosecutor. The motion carried 7 yes, 0 Nays. Ms. Harris came forward expressing her appreciation for the opportunity to work for the City of Paris and said she was looking forward to working in Municipal Court with the Police Officers and Mr. Foster. Ms. Harris said she would be starting in mid - March. Mayor Neeley called for consideration of and action on authorizing the preparation of an ordinance amending Section 12 -1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris establishing the Fire Department personnel as funded in the 1998 -1999 budget. A motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Thomas, authorizing the preparation of an ordinance amending Section 12 -1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris establishing the Fire Department personnel as funded in the 1998 -1999 budget. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Neeley called for consideration of and action on authorizing the preparation of an ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris by revising Chapter 2, Section VII thereof to provide for a system of records retention, retrieval, and destruction that is in compliance with the guideline established by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. A motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Councilman Gray, authorizing the preparation of an ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the
