.5 <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 12, 1998 <br />947 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in Special Session, Thursday, <br />February 12, 1998, 12:00 o'clock P. M., City Council Chambers, City Hall, <br />Paris, Texas. Mayor Eric S. Clifford called the meeting to order with the <br />following Council Members present: Charles Fulbright, Alan R. Boyd, and <br />Millie McDonald. City Manager, Michael E. Malone, City Attorney, T. K. <br />Haynes, and City Clerk, Mattie Cunningham was also present. <br />City Manager Malone announced that the purpose of the special was <br />consideration and action on a resolution in support of the Byrd -Gramm <br />Amendment No. 1397 to S. 1173. <br />Resolution No. 98 -025, resolving by the City Council of the City of Paris, that <br />the City Council supports the efforts represented by the Byrd -Gramm <br />Amendment to provide needed increases in federal funding for surface <br />transportation, and that the Texas Congressional Delegation and members of the <br />Texas Transportation community are encouraged to support and work toward <br />the successful adoption of the principles included in that amendment, was <br />presented. A ,motion was made by Councilman Fulbright, seconded by <br />Councilman Boyd for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 4 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />
