Consideration of and action on the petition of Ron Edwards for a change in <br />zoning from a Multiple - Family Dwelling District No. 1 (MF -1) to a <br />Commercial District (C), on Lot 5, City Block 124, being number 605 Grand <br />Avenue. <br />Motion was made to disapprove by Bobby L. Myers and seconded by Eva <br />Flenniken. The motion carried by a vote of 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />4. Public Hearing to consider the site plan requested by Marshall Jordan for <br />Lot 4, Block 7, Springlake Addition, being number 385 28th Street N.E. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Marshall Jordan spoke in favor of the site plan, he desires to build a shop building <br />and renew existing house and live there. He wants to have a Heating/Air <br />Conditioning business in the new metal building. <br />TUre was no opposition, the public meeting was declared closed. <br />5. Consideration of and action on approving the site plan requested by <br />Marshall Jordan for Lot 4, Block 7, Springlake Addition, being number 385 <br />28th Street N.E. <br />A motion was made by Louis Yates, Jr. to approve the site plan subject to the City <br />Engineer's Memo dated January 5, 1998, with modification of parking lot to make <br />safer and not allow backing onto Collegiate. The motion was seconded by <br />Marshall Kent. The motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays and 1 abstain. <br />6. Public Hearing to consider the petition of 100 North Main Properties to close <br />a 16 foot alley located in City Block 11, beginning approximately 108 feet <br />West of 1st Street N.E. in the North boundary line of East Houston, thence <br />North a distance of approximately 108 feet, thence East a distance of <br />approximately 108 feet to the West boundary line of 1st Street N.E. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Ms. Mary Clark, attorney representing owners, states the owners are purchasing <br />all property adjacent to the alley. They are planning to renovate old "Texas Hotel" <br />where law offices will be located. They will use the lot behind for parking. <br />There was no opposition, the public meeting was declared closed. <br />7.
