MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 5, 1998 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Thursday, February <br />5, 1998, 6:00 P. M., City Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris, Texas. Mayor <br />Eric S. Clifford called the meeting to order with the following Council Members <br />present: Charles Fulbright, Alan R. Boyd, Thetis L. Elder, and Charlie Neeley. <br />Absent was Millie McDonald, and Jerry L. Thomas. Also present was City <br />Manager, Michael E. Malone, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, <br />Mattie Cunningham. <br />City Manager Malone presented the minutes of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission held January 2, 1998, and they are attached hereto as Exhibit A to <br />these minutes. <br />Councilwoman Elder informed the Council that she has recently moved out of <br />her district, and would like to officially submit her resignation effective <br />immediately. Ms. Elder said she had fully enjoyed her tenure on the Council, <br />that she has tried to serve her district and the people of the City of Paris to the <br />very best of her ability, and certainly enjoyed the time that she had spent with <br />the Council Members. <br />Mayor Clifford said on behalf of himself and the Council, they really <br />appreciated her service on the Council, that she has been a valuable member of <br />this Council, and will be missed. <br />City Manager Malone announced that Agenda Item No. 3, public hearing to <br />consider the petition of A. W. Clem for a change in zoning from a One - Family <br />Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to an Office District (0), on Lot 8G, City Block <br />287, being number 3605 Clarksville Street, and Agenda Item No. 4, <br />consideration of and action on authorizing the preparation of an ordinance <br />amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1710 changing the zoning from a One - Family <br />Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to an Office District (0), on Lot 8G, City Block <br />287, being located at 3605 Clarksville Street, has been requested by the <br />petitioner that these items be tabled so they can amend their petition. <br />z <br />
