Mr. King said one morning he
had approximately ten gallons of water in his house, his back yard was full of
water, and he feels something should be done to stop the water from coming in
his yard. He has been at this location for twenty years, and has never had water
in his yard. Mr. King said he has talked to Mr. Williams and Mr. Yates, Earl
Smith, City Engineer, regarding this problem, and feels this should be taken care
of by the contractors.
City Manager Malone said this has been looked into and advised Mr. King that
the City has contacted Mr. Yates, and he realizes that the drainage plan for his
development calls for the water to be flowing to the east to the drainage ditch
that is adjacent to the property. That at the present time the soil that has been
placed there is too wet to get equipment on the property to make that necessary
adjustment, but before he is turned loose by the City, he is going to have to
make the drainage plan work.
A motion was made by Councilman Neeley, seconded by Councilman Boyd
authorizing the preparation of an ordinance closing an alley located between 6I`
Street S.
