MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 9, 1998 The City Council of the City of Paris met in Special Session, Monday, February 9, 1998, 6:00 P. M., City Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris, Texas. Mayor Eric S. Clifford called the meeting to order with the following Council Members present: Charles Fulbright, Alan R. Boyd, and Jerry W. Thomas. City Manager, Michael E. Malone, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, Mattie Cunningham was also present. Invocation was given by W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance for the City of Paris. Mayor Clifford asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous meetings, there being none, the minutes were approved as presented. City Manager announced that the next item on the agenda was receipt of reports from committees, boards, and commissions, and minutes from the Paris Public Library Advisory Board and Paris Economic Development Corporation had been furnished with no action being required. — Mayor Clifford, as a member of the Annexation Committee, advised the Council that the Committee was to meet today, but was unable to do so, and recommended that Agenda Item No. A. La, consideration of and action on authorizing the preparation of an ordinance revising the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris by amending Section 21 -5 thereof to permit the discharging of firearms within the City Limits on property zoned Agricultural (A)., and a motion was made by Councilman Thomas, seconded by Councilman Boyd to table action on this item. The motion carried 4 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Clifford also recommended that Agenda Item No. 3.A.b., consideration of and action on authorizing preparation of an ordinance revising the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris by amending Section 12 -87 thereof to permit burning within the City Limits on property zoned Agricultural (A), be tabled. A motion wa.3 made by Councilman Thomas seconded by Councilman Boyd to table this item. The motion carried 4 ayes, 0 nays.
