683 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />January 9, 1997 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Thursday, <br />January 9, 1997, 6:00 P. M., City Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris, <br />Texas. Mayor Eric S. Clifford called the meeting to order with the <br />following Councilmembers present: Charles Fulbright, Alan Boyd, <br />Richard Hunt, Charlie Neeley, Millie McDonald, and Thetis L. Elder. <br />City Manager, Michael E. Malone, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City <br />Clerk, Mattie Cunningham were also present. <br />City Manager Malone presented the minutes of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission's meeting held January 6, 1997, and attached hereto as <br />Exhibit A to these minutes. <br />City Manager Malone advised the. Council that the public hearing to <br />consider the petition of Minnie Nelson for a change in zoning from a <br />One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a General Retail District <br />(GR) on Lot 2, Block 9 of the Colonial Addition had been tabled, and if <br />the Council wished to consider this matter, a motion to bring this item <br />from the table is required. <br />A motion was made by Councilwoman to bring the above item from the <br />table. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Elder, and carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Clifford reopened the public hearing to consider the for a change <br />in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2' (SF-2) to a General <br />Retail District (GR) on Lot 2, Block 9 of the Colonial Addition <br />petition of of Minnie Nelson, and called for proponents to appear. <br />Minnie Nelson, 1373 W. Shiloh, appeared before the Council telling the <br />Council her plan is to place a B -B -Q Shed at this location. <br />r-- <br />Mayor Clifford called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Hunt, seconded by Councilman Fulbright <br />authorizing preparation of an Ordinance to be presented at the Monday <br />night meeting changing the zoning from a One Family Dwelling District <br />No. 2 (SF -2) to a General Retail District (GR) on Lot 2, Block 9, of <br />the Colonial Addition, and to include the parking plans. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Malone advised the Council that the next item on the <br />agenda was a public hearing to consider the closing of 10th Street S. <br />E., located between the north boundary line from Austin, Street, north <br />to South boundary line of Clarksville Street, and this item had been <br />tabled at the last Council meeting. Should the Council wish to <br />consider this' matter, a motion to bring this item from the table would <br />be required. <br />
