683 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL January 9, 1997 The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Thursday, January 9, 1997, 6:00 P. M., City Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris, Texas. Mayor Eric S. Clifford called the meeting to order with the following Councilmembers present: Charles Fulbright, Alan Boyd, Richard Hunt, Charlie Neeley, Millie McDonald, and Thetis L. Elder. City Manager, Michael E. Malone, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, Mattie Cunningham were also present. City Manager Malone presented the minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission's meeting held January 6, 1997, and attached hereto as Exhibit A to these minutes. City Manager Malone advised the. Council that the public hearing to consider the petition of Minnie Nelson for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a General Retail District (GR) on Lot 2, Block 9 of the Colonial Addition had been tabled, and if the Council wished to consider this matter, a motion to bring this item from the table is required. A motion was made by Councilwoman to bring the above item from the table. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Elder, and carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Clifford reopened the public hearing to consider the for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2' (SF-2) to a General Retail District (GR) on Lot 2, Block 9 of the Colonial Addition petition of of Minnie Nelson, and called for proponents to appear. Minnie Nelson, 1373 W. Shiloh, appeared before the Council telling the Council her plan is to place a B -B -Q Shed at this location. r-- Mayor Clifford called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the public hearing was declared closed. A motion was made by Councilman Hunt, seconded by Councilman Fulbright authorizing preparation of an Ordinance to be presented at the Monday night meeting changing the zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a General Retail District (GR) on Lot 2, Block 9, of the Colonial Addition, and to include the parking plans. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Malone advised the Council that the next item on the agenda was a public hearing to consider the closing of 10th Street S. E., located between the north boundary line from Austin, Street, north to South boundary line of Clarksville Street, and this item had been tabled at the last Council meeting. Should the Council wish to consider this' matter, a motion to bring this item from the table would be required.
