None of this processed wood chips go
into our landfill. All 25,000 citizens have this service
available to them. In 1995, we processed the unprocessed
brush at 2,200 residences affecting 5,500 citizens. The
project began in 1991, with two (2) employees spending eight
(8) hours a week each on this program. In 1995, two (2)
employees averaged twenty -four (24) hours per week each
processing brush. Our program has grown threefold in four
(4) years.
We have worn out our chipper machine and are requesting a new
brushchipper machine in this grant application.
We continue to inform our citizens thru mailouts of our
residential collection policy and encourage the "Don't Bag
It' program.
6
s
