777 <br />1995 -1996 budget for the Paris Visitors and Convention Committee, and <br />Mr. Vest has requested that the City Council table Agenda Item No. 8A <br />which is a resolution requesting approval of the revised 1995 -96 budget <br />for the Paris Visitors and Convention Committee, and suggested that the <br />Council table that item when it comes up. <br />City Manager called for consideration of and action on authorizing the <br />preparation of an ordinance amending Section 2 -196 of the Code of <br />Ordinances of the City of Paris, providing for compliance with the <br />Public Information Act and regulating the amounts to be charged for <br />items on which the charge is not regulated by the Act. City Manager <br />Malone advised the Council that the Public Information act limits the <br />amount of charges for information furnished to a requesting person and <br />these amendments comply with the new amendments to the act. In <br />addition to those items requested to be charged to match the act, some <br />unregulated items are being added to the ordinance regulating the <br />amount to be charged for items. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Fulbright, seconded <br />by Councilman Hunt authorizing the preparation of an ordinance amending <br />Section 2 -196 of the Code of Ordinance providing for compliance with <br />the Public Information Act. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 96 -006 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER 7, <br />ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 7 -16, 7 -18, 7 -19 AND 7 -20 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING <br />FOR ADOPTION OF THE STANDARD BUILDING CODE, 1994 EDITION; PROVIDING FOR <br />DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS AND AMENDMENTS TO SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR <br />CHANGING THE REFERENCE THEREIN FROM DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />TO CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED <br />$2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 1, 1995 <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by <br />Councilman Neeley for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 96 -007 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER 7, <br />ARTICLE V, DIVISION I, SECTION 7 -101 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR <br />ADOPTION OF THE STANDARD MECHANICAL CODE, 1994 EDITION; PROVIDING FOR <br />THE REPEAL OF CHAPTER 7, ARTICLE V, DIVISION II, SECTION 7 -111 THROUGH <br />7 -119 OF SAID CODE AND DECLARING THE SAME TO BE NULL AND VOID AND OF NO <br />EFFECT; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 1, 1996 <br />was presented.
