033 After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Jim Bell to amend the City of Paris's current Smoking Ordinance to ban smoking in all City owned properties and vehicles, and to hold a pubic hearing on that ordinance, and that we further pass an ordinance on private business allowing them to post themselves as non - smoking, smoking or smoking in designated areas and those designated areas be properly ventilated and should be posted regardless whether they are smoking or non - smoking. The motion was seconded by Councilman Williams, and carried 5 ayes, 2 nays, Councilman John Bell and Councilman Brown voting nay. Mayor Fisher appointed a committee consisting of Councilman Don Shelton, Councilman Jim Bell, and Councilwoman Millie McDonald to study the proposed ordinance, and come up with a design for smoking and non - smoking signs to be posted in public buildings and private businesses.
