i <br />A <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />JANUARY 4, 1993 <br />The Planning and zoning Commission met in regular session Monday, <br />January 4, 1993 at 5:30 P.M. in the Municipal Court Room, 811 <br />Bonham Street, Paris, Texas with the following members present: <br />1. Reeves Hayter, Chairman 5. Barbara Gann <br />2. Nadine Ausbie 6. Marshall Rent, Jr. <br />3. Eric Clifford 7. Joe E. McCarthy <br />4. Curtis Fendley <br />Also present were Earl Smith, City Engineer and Joe McCollum, <br />Director of Community Development. <br />Chairman Hayter called the meeting to order and the minutes of the <br />December 7, 1992 meeting were approved as presented. <br />Chairman Hayter declared the public hearing open on the petition of <br />C. L. Massey for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling <br />District No. 3 (SF -3) to a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF- <br />3) and Specific Use Permit - Mobile Home (39) on Lot 6, Block 4, <br />Colonial Addition located at 804 N.W. 14th Street. <br />Mr. Massey was present and told the commission of his desire to <br />place a Mobile home on the vacant lot next to his home to be owned <br />and occupied by his son and daughter in law, A petition was <br />presented, signed by 15 owners and occupants of homes in the <br />neighborhood, stating no objection to the proposed Mobile home. <br />No one was present in opposition to the request and the public <br />hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Clifford, seconded by Mr. McCarthy, to <br />recommend approval of the petition. The motion carried 7 Ayes, 0 <br />Nays. <br />Chairman Hayter next opened the public hearing to consider the <br />petition of Benny Lovell for a change in zoning from a Two Family <br />Dwelling District (2F) to a Multi - Family Dwelling District No. 1 <br />(MF -1) on Lots 6A and 6B, City Block 112 -F located at 1608 E. <br />Hearon Street. <br />Mr. Lovell was present and told the Commission he had bought the <br />two lots, one of which was occupied by a duplex that was in bad <br />condition. He said his proposal was to remove the duplex and <br />construct two four plex, brick veneer, apartments on the property. <br />He went on to say that the new construction would upgrade the <br />neighborhood. <br />No one was present to speak in opposition to the change and the <br />public hearing was closed. <br />
