Councilman Bell stated that if this property could be zoned with only the sign being zoned commercial, and not the property, then he would not have a problem with the zoning change. City Attorney Haynes advised that no matter how the ordinance is presented, the Council has the authority to :change it however they desire while it is before the Council. After further discussion, a motion was made_ by Councilman Shelton, seconded by Councilman Bell to deny the zoning request. The motion carried 5 ayes, 1 nay, Mayor Fisher voting nay. ORDINANCE NO. 93 -006 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT ORDINANCE NO. 92 -054 PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 14TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1992, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 1 OF SAID ORDINANCE; PROVIDING THAT THE REFERENCE THEREIN TO BE CHANGED TO REMOVE LOT 8, AND LOT 9, BLOCK 14 T &P ADDITION, AND TO CORRECT TIME ALLOWANCE ON LOT 5, BLOCK 1, LANE PLACE ADDITION; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JANUARY 11, 1993 was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Burnett for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Malone called for consideration of and action on bids received at public bid opening for City Depository for City funds for a two year period beginning March 1, 1993. City Manager Malone advised that only one bid had been received, that being from the Liberty National Bank in Paris, and Gene Anderson, Director of Finance, recommended that the Liberty National Bank's bid be accepted as it meets all specification. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Burnett to award the bid for City Depository for the City to the Liberty National Bank. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution No. 93 -004, resolving that the matter of appropriate zoning on Lot 1, City Block 15; Lot 9, City Block 6; Lot 12, City Block 180; and Lot 5 -A, City Block 179 -A, be and the same is hereby referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Paris for its recommendation concerning the proper zoning; and, calling a public hearing to be held by and before the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Paris at 5:30 P. M., in the City Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas, on the 1st day of February 1993, and a public hearing to be held by and before the City Council of the City of Paris at 6:00 P. M., in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas on the 4th day of February 1993, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Shelton, seconded by Councilman Burnett for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays.
