-D <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90 -020 <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lamar is moving forward with <br />developing a site, bounded by 1st Street S.W. and 3rd Street <br />S.W., Brown Avenue and the Missouri Pacific Railroad, for the <br />location of a county building which will house the Lamar County <br />Jail and supportive activities; and, <br />WHEREAS, an extension to the West of Hearne Street from lst <br />Street S.W. to 3rd Street S.W. at or near the intersection of <br />Frisco Street, would improve the traffic circulation of the area <br />and it is appropriate that Lamar County be asked for the right of <br />way for the same during its jail site development preparation; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />That the County of Lamar is requested to dedicate to public use, <br />as a part of the platting process in the development of its site <br />plan for its jail complex, appropriate right of way for the <br />extension to the West of Hearne Street from 1st Street S.W. to <br />3rd Street S.W. at or near the intersection of Frisco Street. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon request of the County of <br />Lamar, that the City of Paris would close Brown Avenue between <br />lst Street S.W. and 3rd Street S.W. and convey the abandoned <br />right of way of the same to Lamar County. <br />Passed and adopted this 12th day of February, 1990. <br />Eric S. Hayne , City Attorney <br />Resolution No. 90 -021 resolving that the four sites, 18th Street N. W. <br />to Graham, 2400 Block of East Price, 13th Street S. W. & Washington, <br />and 8th Street S. E. & Jackson, be nominated for approval to the <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development for family public housing <br />as agreed upon by the Paris Housing Authority and the City of Paris, <br />and in the event the four sites are not acceptable to the Department of <br />Housing and Urban Development, then the City of Paris withdraw its <br />support for multi - family public housing in favor of housing to be <br />furnished through the Rental Assistance Program and encourages the use <br />of the same to achieve and appropriate racial mix in the existing <br />Public Housing of the Paris Housing Authority. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Booth, seconded by Councilman Kent for approval of the <br />resolution. The motion carried with 4 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstention. <br />
