` i_4 <br />(SF -2) to a Commercial District (C) on Lot 31, City Block 250 located <br />at 801 Clement Road. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Booth, seconded by Councilman Fendley <br />authorizing preparation of an ordinance amending Zoning Ordinance No. <br />1710 changing the zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 to a <br />Commercial District on Lot 31, City Block 250. The motion carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes recommended that the Council instruct the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission to investigate the vicinity around this area in <br />order to establish a district that is close to a single unit, and <br />report back to the Council so the zoning can be given to a larger <br />area: City Attorney said it was appropriate to have commercial use for <br />that area, and there are people who desires the zoning change. <br />Mayor Clifford asked that City Attorney Haynes direct this to the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission for their study and recommendation. <br />Mayor Clifford declared the public hearing open on the petition of <br />Buddy Wells for a change in zoning from a Multi- Family Dwelling <br />District No. 1 (MF -1) to a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF -3) <br />and Specific Use Permit - Mobile Home (39) on Lot 18, City Block 142 <br />located at 343 E. Hearon Street. <br />Mayor Clifford called for proponents to appear, and none appeared. <br />Mayor Clifford called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />City Manager Malone called for-consideration and action on authorizing <br />— the preparation of an ordinance amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1710 <br />changing the zoning from a Multi- Family Dwelling District No. 1 to a <br />One Family Dwelling District No 3 and Specific Use Permit - Mobile Home <br />(39) on lot 18, City Block 142. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Booth, seconded by Councilman Kent to <br />deny the zoning change. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Clifford declared the public hearing open to consider a <br />recommendation on the petition of the Kiamichi Railroad Company to <br />permanently close W. Sherman Street beginning at the Northeast corner <br />of the intersection of 12th Street Southwest and West Sherman Street, <br />the same being in the West Boundary Line of the Railroad Right of Way; <br />thence South with the Railroad Right of Way to the South Boundary Line <br />of Sherman Street; thence East 500 feet, more or less, to the East <br />Boundary Line of the Railroad Right of Way; Thence North with the <br />Railroad Right of Way to the North Boundary Line of Sherman Street; <br />thence West to the place of beginning. <br />Mayor Clifford called for those who wished to speak in favor of the <br />closing of a portion of Sherman Street to come forward. <br />
