RESOLUTION NO. 90 -022 <br />WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County and the <br />Paris Visitors and Convention Committee is desirous of <br />constructing a civic center in the City of Paris, Paris, <br />Texas and has requested the use of Hotel /Motel taxes to help <br />fund said construction and the City of Paris is agreeable in <br />accordance with state law; and, <br />WHEREAS, in order to use the Hotel /Motel taxes for the <br />construction of a civic center it is necessary for the City <br />of Paris, the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County, Inc., the <br />Paris Visitors and Convention Committee to enter into a <br />contract, the form of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A - " -', <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the <br />citizens of Paris, to encourage increased tourism and <br />conventions; NOW THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />That the form of contract between the City of Pairs, the <br />Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County and the Paris Visitors <br />and Convention Committee, attached hereto as Exhibit A, is <br />approved; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of <br />Paris, Eric S. Clifford, be, and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the <br />contract in the form of Exhibit A attached hereto. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of March, 1990. <br />Eric S.
