CONTRACT <br />STATE OF TEXAS § <br />§ KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: <br />COUNTY OF LAMAR § <br />That the CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, a municipal <br />corporation, acting by and through its Mayor, Eric S. Clifford, <br />duly authorized, hereinafter called CITY, the PARIS VISITORS AND <br />CONVENTION COMMITTEE, by its Chairman, E. A. Hernan, hereinafter <br />called V &CC, and the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF LAMAR COUNTY, INC., a <br />corporation, acting by and through its President, David Denney, <br />duly authorized, hereinafter called CHAMBER, hereby contract and <br />agree as follows: <br />1. The CITY shall deliver to CHAMBER in accordance with <br />state law, Hotel /Motel tax collected by CITY,., so long as <br />Hotel /Motel tax is collected by CITY and is permitted to be <br />collected by state law. <br />2. CHAMBER agrees to receive Hotel /Motel tax and place the <br />same in an account controlled by V &CC. <br />3. V &CC agrees to use tax funds in accordance with state <br />.law, contract between CITY and CHAMBER DATED April .13, 1987, and <br />this agreement. <br />4. V &CC agrees to dedicate 42.85% of the Hotel /Motel" tax <br />to the civic center construction project and upon its completion <br />to rebate this amount back to the CITY for the operation of the <br />civic center. <br />-1- <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
