Mr. Hayden Swaim addressed the Commission saying that such an amendment
would enable the housing industry to produce more affordable housing
for the City of Paris. He said that the reduced lot size and zero lot
line placement of a house would make it easier to design and build a
1,200 - 1,300 sq. ft. house in the $40,000 range.
No one else spoke and the public hearing was closed.
The general consensus of the Commission and staff was that the proposal
had merit. Mr. Hayter made a motion to table for 30 days for study,,,._
Mr. Copeland seconded the motion which carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
The Replat of Lots 21 and 22, Block A, Johnsons Woods Park was
recommended for approval -on a motion by Mr. Copeland, seconded by Mr.
Newberry. It was pointed
out that the property was opposite the fairgrounds, the fire dept.
drill tower and the tractor pull site making it undesirable for
residential use.
Following discussion, a motion was made by Mr. Copeland, seconded by
Mr. Newberry, to recommend approval of the change. The motion carried
7 ayes, 0 nays.
Chairman Burnett reopened the public hearing on the petition of Buddy
Wells for a change a change in zoning from a Multi- Family Dwelling
District No. 1 (MF -1) to a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF -3)
and Specific Use Permit - Mobile Home (39) on Lot 18, City Block 142
located at 343 E.
