A motion was made by Councilman Booth, seconded by Councilman Wortham <br />awarding the bids for supplying materials and labor for installation of <br />carpet for the Paris Police Department to Seidle Enterprises in the <br />amount of $2,238.95. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Malone called for the tabulations of bids for furnishing <br />and delivery of specified Fire and E.M.S. Uniforms, and the following <br />-- bids were presented: <br />Aratex Services, Inc. <br />Tyler Uniform Company <br />$2,973.19 <br />$5,691.12 <br />Steve Burgin, Fire Chief, was present and advised the Council that <br />Tyler Uniform Company had met all specifications. That Aratex <br />Services, Inc. has a good price, but could not supply the patches, and <br />we would have to purchase the E.M.S. uniforms separate; therefore, Mr. <br />Burgin recommended the bids of Tyler Uniform Company. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Booth, seconded by Councilman Kent <br />awarding the bids to Tyler Uniform Company in the amount of $5,691.12 <br />for uniforms for the Fire and E.M.S. Departments. The motion carried 5 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Malone advised that only one proposal had been received <br />for a Computer for the Library, that being from Bessco in the amount of <br />$2,585.00 with an annual Maintenance cost of $350.00. City Manager <br />Malone advised the Council Beverly Campbell, Library Director, had <br />recommended awarding the bid to Bessco as the bid exceeds the required <br />specifications. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kent, seconded by Councilman Davidson <br />awarding the bid to Bessco in the amount of $2,585.00 with annual <br />maintenance cost of $350.00 for the purchase of a computer for the <br />Library. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Malone called for the tabulations of bids for a Computer <br />Printer for the Paris Library, and the following bids were presented: <br />Bessco $765.00 <br />Office Equipment Center $915.00 <br />City Manager Malone told the Council Mrs. Campbell had recommended <br />rejecting all bids and made a request that the Computer Printer be <br />rebid. City Manager advised the reason for this is since the <br />specification were prepared, there has been a dramatic reduction in <br />price for more sophisticated printers, and Mrs. Campbell feels the City <br />could received better bids and much higher quality printer if rebid. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Booth, seconded by <br />Councilman Wortham to reject bids for a Computer Printer and go - -out for- <br />bids again. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 90 -006 authorizing and directing the Mayor of the City <br />of Paris, Eric S. Clifford to execute the Assignment of Pasture Lease <br />from Kyle Clement to Jim Coplin and Kelly Coplin was presented. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Booth, seconded by Councilman Wortham for <br />approval of the resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
