that we had, and to try and keep within our system an opportunity to <br />attract new industry. One of the ways that we began was to work with <br />industries to transport gas for them. Mr. Hicks said if those <br />industries had their own gas package, they would actually use their <br />system just to transport that gas to they, thereby, maintaining them as <br />a gas customer. <br />Mr. Hicks told the Council that between the years 1983 and 1987 their <br />total revenue in gas sales declined from about 10.8 million dollars to <br />5.4 million dollars, so the street and alleyway rental paid to the City <br />of Paris declined. <br />Mr. Hicks also discussed Lone Star Gas subsidiary companies and their <br />operations. <br />Jack Stowe, Consultant with Reed and Stowe Consulting Firm, was present <br />and gave background information concerning rates and Lone Star Gas <br />Company's rate case based on a test year ending December 31, 1985. <br />Resolution No. 89 -019 authorizing and directing the City Manager of the <br />City of Paris, Michael E. Malone to execute on behalf of the City of <br />Paris a contract with Hawker Siddeley Power Engineering, Inc. for <br />temporary construction water service was presented. A motion was made <br />by Councilman Booth, seconded by Councilman Fendley for approval of the <br />Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes. 0 nays. <br />� <br />,.r. <br />
