MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />May 8, 1986 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Thursday, <br />May 8, 1986 5;15 P. M. Mayor Pro Tem Hoog called the meeting to order <br />with the following Councilman present; W. C. -Francis, Addie Bufford, <br />Billy J. Burnett, Mike Folmar, and Bill Bone. Also present were City <br />Manager, David H. Doty, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, <br />Mattie Cunningham. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Hoog announced that the first order of business would be <br />electing of Mayor to serve the City of Paris for the next year. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Hoog announced that nominations were open for the <br />election of Mayor. Councilman Bone nominated Councilman Burnett for <br />Mayor, and the nominations were declared closed. The vote showed 6 <br />ayes, 0 nays, and Councilman Burnett was elected Mayor. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Hoog announced that nominations were open for the <br />election of Mayor Pro Tem. Councilman Burnett nominated Councilman <br />Francis, Councilman Bufford seconded the motion. Councilman Folmar <br />nominated Councilman Hoog. Councilman Hoog declined the nomination, <br />and called for a vote on the nomination of Councilman Francis for Mayor <br />Pro Tem. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, and Councilman Francis was <br />elected Mayor Pro Tem. <br />Mayor Burnett assumed his seat as Mayor and thanked the Council for <br />their support. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of Danny <br />Easley for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 <br />(SF -2) to a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF -3) and Specific Use <br />Permit - Mobile Home (39) on Lot 21, City Block 83 located at 561 10th <br />Street N. W. <br />Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, appeared before the <br />Council and presented the minutes of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission's meeting held on May 5, 1986 and attached hereto as part of <br />these minutes as exhibit A. <br />Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear and Danny Easley, 561 <br />10th N. W. appeared before the Council and stated that he wanted to <br />remove the present house that is on the lot and replace it with a <br />mobile home to be used as his residence. <br />Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman Francis to <br />approve the zoning change and called for the preparation of an <br />Ordinance to be presented at the next regular Council meeting. The <br />motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />C)133 <br />
