274 <br />City Manager Doty told the Council that there would be a Texas <br />Municipal League Regional 15 Meeting July 17, 1986 with the City of <br />Palestine if anyone wished to attend. Councilman Bone and Councilman <br />Francis said they would be attending the meeting. <br />Mayor Burnett called for consideration and action on developing a <br />method for formulating a recommendation concerning essential air <br />service. <br />City Manager Doty told the Council that in the past, City Council had <br />requested that the Transportation Committee of the Chamber of <br />Commerce conduct public meetings with each applicant and make the <br />requested recommendation. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Folmar to allow the <br />Transportation Committee of the Chamber of Commerce conduct the <br />public meeting with the three Airlines and make the requested <br />recommendation. The motion was seconded by Councilman Hoog and <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for action on joining with other Texas Cities in <br />supporting the intervention by the Texas Municipal League in Civil <br />Action No. CA3- 86- 0121R, U. S. District Court for the Northern <br />District of Texas, Dallas Division (Sportsmen's Clubs of Texas, <br />Sierra Club and Environmental Defense Fund, Inc. v U. S. <br />Environmental Protection Agency). <br />City Attorney Haynes explained why the City of Paris should <br />participate in the intervention. <br />
