Block 2, Fitzhugh Addition located on the Southeast corner of 8th <br />Street N. E. and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. <br />Mayor Fisher called for proponents to appear and none appeared. <br />Mayor Fisher called for opponents to appear and Florine Edwards, 1119 <br />Fitzhugh, appeared before the Council objecting to the noise of the <br />additional traffic that would be created by expanding the existing <br />building to have room for a restaurant and office. <br />Betty Harris, 1129 Fitzhugh appeared before the Council objecting to <br />the noise in connection with the present club and. stated that the <br />zoning change would only be adding to the current noise. <br />John L. Brown, 1130 Fitzhugh appeared in opposition to the noise that <br />would be created by the zoning change. <br />Jesse Hall appeared in his behalf and discussed the zoning change. Mr. <br />Hall informed the Council that he planned to open a Restaurant and <br />office. <br />Mayor Fisher declared the public hearing closed. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Wilson, seconded by <br />Councilman Burnett to.deny the zoning ;change. The motion carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Fisher declared the public hearing open on the petition of Fern <br />Powell for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 <br />(SF -3) to a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF -3) and Specific Use <br />Permit - Mobile Home (39) on Lot 3, Block A, Fuller Dohoney Addition <br />located at 1226 13th Street N. W. <br />Mayor Fisher called for proponents to appear and Mrs. Martin Armstrong <br />appeared before the Council and spoke in favor of the zoning Change. <br />Mayor Fisher called for opponents to appear, and Mr. Ray Jones 1229 <br />13th N. W. appeared objecting to the placement of a mobile home on the <br />property. <br />A petition was presented tt, the Council signed by six property owners <br />in the vicinity that are ito favor of the zoning change. <br />Mayor Fisher declared the ;ublic hearing closed. <br />After discussion, a motion vas made by Councilman Williams, seconded by <br />Councilman Francis to apprt4e the zoning change. The motion failed <br />with a three to four vote. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for rezoning: <br />Billie Joe Cullum change frim a Two Family Dwelling District to a One <br />Family Dwelling District Nc. 3 and Specific Use Permit - Mobile Home on <br />Lot 4, City Block 51 -8; Fred Gibson change from a Commercial District <br />i <br />�J <br />
