City Manager Doty addressed the Council again in regard to the contract with <br />Merico Inc. and commended the City Staff for their negotiation of this contract <br />along with Anheuser -Busch Companies, Merico, and Campbell Taggart. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 85 -018 <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH THE CITY OF PARIS WILL <br />RECEIVE INDUSTRIAL WASTE OF UNUSUAL STRENGTH AND CHARACTER FROM MERICO, INC., <br />OBLIGATING THE CITY TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO ITS WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT, <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS CONTRIBUTED BY MERICO, INC. AND CITY FUNDS, <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT CONCERNING THE SAME; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 15, 1985. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />Wilson for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 85 -028 authorizing and directing the Mayor, Joe Graham, to execute <br />on behalf of the City of Paris a Water Service Agreement with Lamar County <br />Water Supply District was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, �-- <br />seconded by Councilman Wilson for approval of the Resolution. The motion carried <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
