Mayor Graham called for_ the tabulations of bids for a Plate Compactor, and the <br />following bids were presented: <br />Moody -Day $1,012.00* <br />AAA Rentals $1,825.00 <br />P. A.' Ross Machinery $1,185.00 <br />* Did not meet specifications <br />Councilman Burnett moved that bids received for a Plate Compa <br />a public bid opening on April 3, 1985 be spread on the record <br />as P. A. Ross Machinery had submitted the lowest and best bid <br />such item that a contract be awarded P. A. Ross Machinery for <br />item meeting City Specifications. Mayor Graham announced there was no <br />action required on this item at this time. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the next item would be consideration of and action on <br />authorizing an Ordinance modifying the E.M.S Service Charges. <br />City Manager Doty advised the Council of the collection rate for the Emergency <br />Medical Service. <br />Steve Burgin appeared before the Council and discussed rates, collection, no <br />pick up charge, stand -by service, and transfers with the Council. After further <br />discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Hoog <br />authorizing the preparation of an Ordinance increasing the rates for Ambulance <br />Service. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham announced that consideration of and action on an Ordinance authoriz- <br />ing a contract with Merico, Inc. for Wastewater Service was to be considered next. <br />City Manager Doty stated that the city must continue good operations, and pointed <br />out that the contract does not solve all the city waste water treatment problems, <br />but would buy time for the city to develop a plan for a long term solution. <br />After discussion, City Attorney Haynes requested no action on this item until <br />later in the meeting. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the Council would go to the next item on the agenda <br />for consideration of an action on an Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinance <br />requirements for contracting for water. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 85 -019 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 31 -2 OF SAID CODE; <br />PROVIDING FOR THE AUTHORIZATION TO CONTRACT WITH WATER CONSUMERS OR PURCHASERS <br />DESIRING WATER AT PARTICULAR PRESSURES, FLOW RATE, AND VOLUME IN EXCESS OF 1.5 <br />MILLION CUBIC FEET PER MONTH OR WHICH REQUIRE CONSTRUCTION OF OVERSIZED ADDITIONS <br />TO THE WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES <br />IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 15, 1985. <br />was presented.
