r MINUTES OF THE 1 PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MARCH 4, 1985 The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Paris met in regular session Monday, March 4, 1985 at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas with the following members present: 1. Freddy Swaim - Chairman 4. Bruce McMonigle 2. Bill Davidson 5. Ronnie Nutt 3. Jacob Hildreth 6. Kyle Perry Chairman Swaim called the meeting to order and the minutes of February 7, 1985 were approved as submitted. Chairman Swaim declared the public hearing open on the petition of Mrs. J.D. Ashley for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a General Retail District (GR) on Lot 1, Block 1, Stellrose Addition located at 2247 Clarksville Street. Mrs. Ashley told the Commission that this had been her home for 25 years but the area was changing. She pointed out the existing•retail and office uses around her home and stated her lot and one other were the only ones not zoned General Retail between.22nd S.E. and 24th S.E. on the north side of Clarksville St. She said there were no plans for the property but felt it too should be zoned General Retail. There was no one else present to speak.on the matter and the public hearing was closed. Following discussion, a motion was made by Mr. Perry, seconded by Mr. Hildreth to recommend approval of the zoning change. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Chairman Swaim declared the public hearing open on the petition of Ray Spencer for a change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District (2F) to a Commercial District (C) and Specific Use Permit - Auto Fuel Sales (49) on Lot 6, City Block 45 located on the southeast corner of Graham Street and 7th N.W. Mr. Spencer was present and advised the Commi Ission of his plans for a convenience store on the property. It was pointed out that the lot is opposite the Industrial Self Storage mini warehouses. There was no one else present to speak for or against the zoning change and the public hearing was closed. Discussion followed and Mr. Nutt made a motion to recommend approval of the change.,Mr. Hildreth seconded the motion which carried 6 ayes, 0 nays.
