J J <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />January 10, 1983 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Monday, <br />January 10, 1983 at 7:00 P. M. in the Council Room of City Hall. Mayor <br />Graham called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: <br />W. C. Francis, Donald G. Wilson, George Fisher, Jr., Larry McGee, Gene <br />McWaters, Jr., and Walter F. Williams. Also present were H. C. Greene, <br />Acting City Manager, T. K. Haynes, City Attorney, and Joe McCollum, Act- <br />ing City Clerk. <br />Prayer was offered by Mayor Pro -Tem, Walter F. Williams. <br />Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of <br />previous meetings, there being none, the minutes were approved as <br />presented. <br />Mayor Graham announced the first order of business would be consideration <br />of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of Jimmy <br />R. Slayden for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District <br />No. 2 to a General Retail District (GR) on Lot 5, City Block 286 located <br />at 2859 Lamar Avenue. <br />Mayor Graham called for proponents to appear and Mr. Slayden was present <br />to answer any questions. <br />Mayor Graham called for opponents to appear and no one appeared and <br />the public hearing was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 24645 —s -cool <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP <br />OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) ON LOT 5, <br />CITY BLOCK 286, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO JIMMY R SLAYDEN, SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE FAMILY DWELLING <br />DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE GENERAL <br />RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher seconded by <br />Councilman Williams for approval of the Ordinance. The motion carried <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of Francis <br />Kreais for a change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District (2F) <br />to a Neighborhood Service District (NS) on Lot 8, City Block 220 -A <br />located at 1920 Pine Bluff Street. <br />There was no one present to speak for or against the requested change, <br />and Mayor Graham declared the public hearing closed and reminded the <br />Council that the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended denial <br />of the change. <br />I{ <br />,.J <br />1 <br />
