A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded <br />by Councilman Williams for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Doty discussed wit hthe Council the possibility of <br />changing the trash collection from a bi- weekly one to a weekly <br />collection, and recommended that the City go in an experimental <br />situation by starting a weekly collection in June. After dis- <br />cussion, a motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Counil- <br />man Williams approving the recommendation of the City Manager. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Di�cussion was had on the hazards involved in the Old City Water Well <br />south of the railroad track and east of the Jr. College campus. <br />Estimates was provided on various methods of securing the Old City <br />Well Site. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Wilson, <br />seconded by Councilman Williams authorizing bids on the 6 foot fence <br />with barbs. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Doty requested the Council's consideration of an Ordinance <br />increasing the Water and Sewer Rates, and advised the increases were <br />necessary in order to meet requirements for a new bond issue concerning <br />the Infiltration /Inflow Project and issuance of new bonds. After <br />discussion, <br />ORDINANCE NO. 83 -019 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION <br />31 -18(a) AND (b); REPEALING SECTION 31 -18 (e); REVISING SECTION 31 -19 <br />(b), (c), AND (d), SECTION 31 -20, SECTION 31 -26; AND ADDING SECTION <br />31 -29; PROVIDING FOR THE REVISION OF THE WATER AND SEWER RATES AND <br />SERVICE CHANGES; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; RE- <br />PEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; <br />AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MAY 1, 1983. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman McWaters, seconded by <br />Councilman McGee for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried <br />4 ayes, 2 nay, one abstaining. Councilman Fisher, Councilman Williams <br />voting nay, and Councilman Francis abstaining. <br />i <br />City Manager Doty presented Mr. Jeff Hoog's resignation from the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission in that Mr. Hoog has been elected to <br />the City Council. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded <br />by Councilman Fisher to accept the resignation. The motion carried <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No 83 -018 appointing Dwight Woolston to serve the unexpired <br />term on the Planning and Zoning Commission created by Jeff Hoog's <br />resignation was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, <br />seconded by Councilman Wilson for adoption of the Resolution. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
