MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />August 5, 1981 <br />273 <br />The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Wednesday, <br />August 5, 1981 at 6:00 P. M. Mayor Burnett called the meeting to order with the <br />following Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, Walter F. Williams, Travis Wortham, <br />Kenneth E. Kohls, Joe Graham, and Larry McGee. Also present were City Manager, <br />R. W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the special meeting was called for the purpose of <br />considering a Resolution extending the time to consider Texas Power & Light Company <br />rate request. <br />Resolution No. 2116 resolving that pursuant to Section 43(d) of the Public <br />Utility Regulatory Act, that the operation of the Texas Power & Light Company's <br />proposed rate schedules filed with the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the 6th <br />day of March, 1981, be, and the same is hereby suspended for an additional period <br />of 30 days for further study, and receipt and examination of the Public Utility <br />Commission's Order entered on the 4th day of August, 1981 was presented. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman Kohls for adoption of the <br />Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
