Mr. Lee Roy Moore, representive of Miller Equipment Company appeared before the <br />Council requesting information as to the selection of the company for the bid. <br />Mayor Burnett called for the tabulation of bids for a new electronic typewriter <br />for the Library, and the following bids were presented: <br />IBM Corporation $1,287.00 <br />Office Equipment Center $1,575.00 <br />Miller Office Equipment $1,885.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Frances to award <br />the bid to the IBM Corporation in the amount of $1,287.00. The motion carried <br />5 ayes, 2 nays, Councilman Kohls, and Councilman McGee voting nay. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request for water service outside the City limits <br />from Jack Butler, off of 19th N. W. Street. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, <br />seconded by Councilman Wortham authorizing the water service with the usual double <br />water rate. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request for water service outside the City limits <br />from L. J. and Isabel Sims off of FM 79. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, <br />seconded by Councilman Wortham approving the request subject to double water rates. <br />The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request from Roy Anderson for exception to <br />Driveway Ordinance No. 1565 allowing a wider Driveway entrance at 32 - 20th S.E. <br />A r: {ion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman Graham approving <br />thr_ request. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />�iayof_ 4)urnett called for the reading of a previously authorized Ordinance to <br />elrri�nate the No Parking Zone on the north side of East Tudor Between 3rd N. E. <br />and 5th N. E., between 6th N. E. and 20th N. E. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2587 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC NO- PARKING MAP <br />ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (c) OF SECTION 29 -112 OF SAID CODE; ELIMINATING A NO- PARKING <br />AREA; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 1, 1981. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman <br />Worthain for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, o nays. <br />:Mayor Burnett called for the reading of a previously authorized Ordinance establish- <br />ing a 30 minute parking zone in the three south parking spaces in the 100 Block of <br />1st S. E. and 3 east parking spaces in the 10 block of East Kaufman Street. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2588 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC PARKING <br />MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION 29 -112 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR <br />30- "MINUTE PARKING ZONES; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING <br />ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 1, 1981. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman <br />Graham for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2120 appointing Jackie Alsobrook as the Lay Representative to <br />the North East Texas Library System for a term of one year beginning September 1, <br />1981 was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Council - <br />man Wortham for adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
