Mayor Burnett called for the tabulation of bids for Survey Instrument for the Engineering Department, and the following bids were presented: Allen Precision Equipment $2,064.00 3427 Oak Cliff Rd. Atlanta, Ga 30340 Bayshore Surveying Instrument Co. $2,367.50 2822 Kingsdale Dr. Deer Park, Texas Midwest Surveyors Service $2,752.00 1400 N. Hampton Dallas, Texas 29,; A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Graham to approve the bid of the Allen Precision Equipment Company in the amount of $2,064.00. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mr. Bob James appeared before the Council and presented a petition from property owners on North Collegiate Drive as follows: "The following persons are residents of North Collegiate Street in Paris, Texas, and by the evidence of their signatures, are requested that the land located to the east of their properties, commonly known as Springlake Development and owned by the Harrison, Walker, and Harper Construction Company., be cleared, mowed, and otherwise cleaned so as not to be a hazard of sanitation, health, or other less desirable situation." Mr. James stated the thick under growth in the area was conducive to an enviroment for rats and mosquitos and that the property owners would be willing to work with the owners to establish a maintenance schedule; that the property owners would like "relief at least 50 - 100 feet behind the owners property line ". Mr. Don Wilson appeared before the Council on behalf of the property owners stating that the property referred to was undeveloped property and that it would be most difficult and expensive to clear the arear at this time because of trees and under growth. After discussion, Mayor Burnett appointed a Committee to study the situation composed of Councilman McGee, Councilman Kohls, and Councilman Wortham. City Manager Sokoll presented a request from the Bethel Baptist Church on West Campbell Street for a sewer line project on a pro rata basis with the City being the sponsor. The Manager advised that estimated cost of construction for the sewer line was $1,944.00. A motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by Councilman Francis calling for a public hearing on the project. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. F
