Hampton <br />Dallas, Texas <br />29,; <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Graham to approve <br />the bid of the Allen Precision Equipment Company in the amount of $2,064.00. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. Bob James appeared before the Council and presented a petition from property <br />owners on North Collegiate Drive as follows: <br />"The following persons are residents of North Collegiate Street in Paris, Texas, <br />and by the evidence of their signatures, are requested that the land located to <br />the east of their properties, commonly known as Springlake Development and owned <br />by the Harrison, Walker, and Harper Construction Company., be cleared, mowed, and <br />otherwise cleaned so as not to be a hazard of sanitation, health, or other less <br />desirable situation." Mr. James stated the thick under growth in the area was <br />conducive to an enviroment for rats and mosquitos and that the property owners <br />would be willing to work with the owners to establish a maintenance schedule; <br />that the property owners would like "relief at least 50 - 100 feet behind the <br />owners property line ". <br />Mr. Don Wilson appeared before the Council on behalf of the property owners <br />stating that the property referred to was undeveloped property and that it would <br />be most difficult and expensive to clear the arear at this time because of trees <br />and under growth. <br />After discussion, Mayor Burnett appointed a Committee to study the situation <br />composed of Councilman McGee, Councilman Kohls, and Councilman Wortham. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request from the Bethel Baptist Church on West <br />Campbell Street for a sewer line project on a pro rata basis with the City being <br />the sponsor. The Manager advised that estimated cost of construction for the <br />sewer line was $1,944.00. A motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by <br />Councilman Francis calling for a public hearing on the project. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />F <br />
