Mayor Burnett called for a previously authorized Ordinance replacing yield signs <br />with stop signs on 17th Street N. E. at East Tudor. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2589 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC <br />CONTROL DEVICE MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION 29 -80 OF SAID CODE; <br />PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR <br />PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1981. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by Councilman <br />Williams for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, <br />Councilman Francis not voting. <br />Mayor Burnett called for the reading of a previously authorized Ordinance for <br />Handicapped Parking Spaces in the Downtown area. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2590 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES, OF THE CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC PARKING <br />MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION 29 -112 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR <br />HANDICAPPED PARKING ZONES; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1981. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />McGee for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />The 1981 property tax roll was presented showing a total tax of $1,477,918.51. <br />motion was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman Williams for <br />approval of the 1981 tax roll. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request fron the Wall Concrete Company for <br />an exception to the Driveway Ordinance No. 1565 allowing a wider driveway at <br />200 Block of Paris Blvd. City Engineer, Rick Conner, appeared before the <br />Council recommending the approval of the exception and also recommending <br />a study of the Ordinance in question and the presentation of an amendment to <br />the Ordinance if advised. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded <br />by Councilman Graham authorizing the exception to the Ordinance to the Wall <br />Concrae Company. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman McGee authorizing <br />a study of Ordinance No. 1565 and presentation of an amendment to the Ordinance <br />if the study produces one. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2121 appointing Larry Loven as a member of the Library Advisory <br />Board to serve the unexpired term of Richard Giles was presented. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman Wortham for adoption of <br />the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
