L -- <br />.r .,„ <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the proposition of a pro -rata <br />sewer line extension on West Campbell Street. City Manager Sokoll advised the <br />Council that the estimated cost of the project was $3,000.00. The Manager further <br />advised that theE.L. Bethel Baptist Church had requested the pro -rata Ordinance. <br />Rev. Tommy Ridley appeared before the Council requesting financial help of the <br />City with the project by reducing the amount to be charged to property owners <br />for the sewer extension . Also speaking with the Rev. Ridley was Mr. Roger <br />Moore, and Mr. Lewis T. Minor. After Discussion, Mayor Burnett declared the <br />public hearing closed and Resolution No. 2123 was presented. A motion was made <br />by Councilman Williams, seonded by Councilman Wortham for adoption of the <br />Resolution with an amendment to the Resolution for the City to participate 50% <br />of the cost of the project. Mayor Burnett called for a motion on the amendment <br />to the Resolution for the City to participate in 50% of the cost of the project, <br />and the amendment passed 3 ayes, 2 nays, Councilman McGee, and Councilman Burnett <br />voting nay. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />Wortham adopting the Resolution as amended. The motion carried 4 ayes, 1 nay, <br />Councilman McGee voting nay. <br />w <br />
