79 <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of Helen Teague <br />for a change in zoning from a Commercial District to a One Family Dwelling <br />District No. 3 and Specific Use Permit - Mobile Home on Lot 29, City Block 83, <br />located onthe east Aide of 10th N. W. South of Shiloh Street. <br />Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear and Ms. Helen Teague appeared in <br />her behalf along with Carl H. Green. <br />Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and none appeared. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2593 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISH- <br />ING A ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 3 (SF -3) AND A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, MOBILE <br />HOME (39) ON LOT 29, CITY BLOCK 83, UPON PROPERTY OF WHICH HELEN TEAGUE OWNS A <br />CURRENT OPTION, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A <br />COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ONE - FAMILY <br />DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 3 (SF -3) AND A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, MOBILE HOME (39), SO <br />ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />Wortham for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Director of Community Development, Joe McCollum, appeared before the Council and <br />presented the Comprehensive Plan Update recently completed by J. T. Dunkin and <br />Associates and informed the Council that the Planning and Zoning Commission had <br />approved the Master Plan as presented, and that the Commission had recommended <br />that the City Council also approve the Plan. After discussion, a motion was made <br />by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman McGee to accept the Comprehensive <br />Plan subject to future approval of the City Council. The motion carried 5 ayes, <br />0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for re- zoning: Dora <br />Beatty, Lot 4, Block 1, Westside Addition from SF2 District to SF3 Specific Use <br />Permit - Mobile Home District; Ed Satcher, Lot 12, City Block 309, from Heavy <br />Industrial District to One Family Dwelling District. <br />Mayor Burnett referred the petitons to the Planning and Zoning Commission for <br />their study and recommendation, and called for a public hearing at the next <br />regular Council meeting. <br />Mayor Burnett invited the Council attention to the recommendations of the Traffic <br />Commission for placing a stop sign on East Margaret Street, 16th Street S. E. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by Councilman McGee authorizing <br />the preparation of an Ordinance on the recommendation of the Traffic Commission. <br />The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for a report from the Committee appointed to study the <br />complaint against the owners of property adjacent to Eastfield Estates concerning <br />growth of weeds and under brush. Councilman Francis informed the Council that the <br />Committeed had not been able to come to a direct recommendation, but that he would <br />personnally recommend that the Fire Department burn the area. After discussion a <br />motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Francis to table any <br />further action. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
