RESOLUTION NO. 2126 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris and the Commissioners Court of Lamar County, under the power granted in Article 4436a -1 of Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, established the Paris -Lamar County Health Unit, which Unit is under the direction and supervision of the City-County Board of Health; and, WHEREAS, said City Council and Commissioners Court have jointly appointed Joe Hillhouse acting director of said Health Unit, which appointment was made subject to the approval of the City - County Board of Health, which has been given; and, WHEREAS, said Acting Director replaces and performs the duties of.a county health officer and a city health officer, neither of which may be so appointed while such joint health unit is in existence; and, . WHEREAS, under Section-5 of said Article 4436a -1, the City Council and the Commissioners Court are empowered to fix the salaries of employees of such joint health unit, and, prior to changing any such salary, the City Council and the Commissioners Court shall request recommendations from the City - County Board of Health; and, WHEREAS, the salary of the Acting Director of the Paris -Lamar County Health Unit is being considered by the Commissioners Court and the City Council, and the recom- mendations of the City - County Health Board having been received with regard to the same, it is deemed appropriate that an employment contract between said City and County and Joe Hillhouse be authorized, drawn and executed; and, WHEREAS, such contract is recommended in the form of Exhibit A attached hereto; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PARIS AND THE COMMISSIONERS Joe Hillhouse, be, and he i Director of the Paris -Lamar terms and conditions stated and, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COURT OF L_AMAR COUNTY, That s hereby reappointed Acting County Health Unit upon the in Exhibit A attached hereto; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of Paris and the County Judge, be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute such agreement on be- half of the City of Paris and the County of Lamar, re- spectively.
