.r, <br />EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT <br />STATE OF TEXAS I <br />COUNTY OF LAMAR X <br />This contract and agreement, made and entered into <br />this 16th day of October, 1981, by and between the CITY OF <br />PARIS, a municipal corporation of the State of Texas, and <br />the COUNTY OF LAMAR, a political subdivision of the State <br />of Texas, hereinafter referred to as the "City and County," <br />party of the first part, and JOE HILLHOUSE, M.D,, here- <br />inafter referred to as the "Acting Director," party of the <br />second part, WITNESSETH; <br />WHEREAS, the City and County did heretofore, acting <br />by and through their City Council and Commissioners Court, <br />respectively, establish the Paris -Lamar County Health Unit <br />under the power granted in Article 4436a -1 of Vernon's <br />Annotated Civil Statutes; and, <br />WHEREAS, such Health Unit should have a director or <br />acting director and such person should be compensated for <br />services rendered; and, <br />WHEREAS, JOE HILLHOUSE, M.D,, is willing, able and <br />qualified to perform the duties of acting director; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual agree- <br />ments hereinafter contained and subject to the terms and <br />conditions hereinafter stated, it is hereby understood and <br />agreed by and between the parties hereto as follows; <br />1. City and County do hereby hire and appoint <br />Joe Hillhouse, M.D „ as acting director of the Paris -Lamar <br />County Health Unit, <br />2.
