Mr. Richard Babb, Consulting Engineer, appeared before the Council and presented <br />plans and specifications on the drainage project on Buttermilk Creek north of <br />Clarksville Street.The estimated preliminary construction cost is $669,000.00. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised that construction costs were not included in the <br />present budget. After discussion, Mayor Burnett appointed a Committee composed <br />of Councilman Kohls, Councilman Wortham, and Councilman McGee to study the project. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that the request of Mr. Leslie Route <br />for a building permit to construct a house in the 2500 Block of Culbertson Street <br />which is in the Council designated moratorium area on building permits had been <br />withdrawn. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request of Leon Walker for sewer service for <br />a 96 lot mobile home subdivision to be located 2.3 miles from the Paris West <br />City Limits on Highway 82, on the east side of Toco. After discussion, a motion <br />was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman Graham to deny the request. <br />The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, Councilman Francis abstaining. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request from Norman Montgomery for out -of -town <br />water service on Highway 82 -west, and stated that Mr. Montgomery had requested <br />annexation. A motion was made by Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman <br />McGee to approve the request for water service and to proceed with the annexation <br />procedure. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for the tabulations of bids for for four new police patrol cars, <br />and the following bids were presented: <br />Lowry Chevorlet $26,460.00 <br />McDougall Olds 28,082.40 <br />Booth Motors 28,869.24 <br />Glass Motors 33,540.04 <br />Kosterman Motors (offered no trade) 35,000.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman McGee for award <br />of the bid to the Lowry Chevrolet Company in the amount of $26,460.00. The <br />Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, Councilman Kohls abstaining. <br />Mayor Burnett called for the tabulation of bids for the sale of three parcels <br />of land, and the following bids were presented: <br />Tract #1 - 5.9 Acres on Clement Road, <br />Cattlemen's Livestock Commission <br />$ 5,100.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman McGee accepting <br />the bid. The motion carried 6 ayes 1 nay, Councilman Wortham voting nay. <br />Tract #2 - Lot 3A on West Kaufman and 21st S. W. <br />John Wright <br />Glenn Watson <br />George Preston <br />Nathan Bell <br />$ 6,803.00 <br />7,010.00 <br />7,600.00 <br />6,888.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman McGee to award <br />the bid to George Preston. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Tract #3 - Lot 6, on Tudor Street <br />Robert A. McDougal. <br />$ 600.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman McGee to award <br />the bid to Robert A. McDougal in the amount of $600.00. The motion carried <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No 2132 authorizing the Mayor to execute deeds on behalf of the City <br />of Paris to convey surface only the several tracts of land was presented. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman McGee for adoption <br />of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
