W. - Campbell Street to Henderson Street. <br />Water improvements will include upgrading of fire hydrants and new service <br />connections to residence. Proposed paving consists of 8" base material with <br />double penetration surface treatment. <br />Total surplus funds available - $ 130,000.00." <br />A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams <br />approving the recommendations of the staff. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll requested authorization to advertise for bids for the City's <br />depository for the two years beginning March 1, 1981. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams approving the request of <br />the City Manager. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, <br />seconded by Councilman Williams approving the request of the City Manager. <br />The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Director of Finance, Greene reviewed the Property Tax Collection Report up <br />to December 31, 1980. <br />Mr. Willard Townsend, Manager, Lone Star Gas Company appeared before the <br />Council to answer questions considering the City's request for leveling the <br />gas rate in the City, increasing the gross receipt tax from 2'% to 3% annually, <br />and increasing the service charges by the Company, and the elimination of the <br />10% late payment surcharge. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman <br />Burnett, seconded by Councilman Kohls to call a public hearing on January 19th <br />to consider the adjustment and the leveling of the gas rate. The motion carried <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Discussion was had concerning approaches to the handling of mobile homes on <br />residential lots in the City. Mr. Skip Steely appeared before the Council <br />and recommended that the City extend the territory of notification beyond the <br />200 feet presently being the policy of the City. <br />
