Councilman Francis stated that the Infiltration /Inflow <br />Project would partly influence future development of the City, and that he would <br />like to make an amendment to the Ordinance. Councilman Francis made a motion to <br />amend the Ordinance to pay the principle and interest from Ad Valorem Taxes, the <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Williams and carried 4 ayes, 3 nays, Councilman <br />Kohls, Councilman Kyle, and Mayor Malone voting nay. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Council - <br />man Wortham authorizing the preparation of an Ordinance calling for the payment <br />of principle and interest for the project from Ad Valorem Taxes. The motion <br />carried 5 ayes, 2 nays, Councilman Kyle and Councilman Kohls voting nay. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams calling <br />for a special meeting Monday, March 16, 1981 7:00 P. M. for presentation of the <br />Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request for street improvement on 41st Street <br />S. W. Richard Babb, Consulting Engineer for the City of Paris appeared before <br />the Council stating that a first class street for the area would cost $589,000. <br />and presented an alternate for $137,000.00. Mr. Gene McWaters appeared before <br />the Council and questioned cost of drainage presented by the Engineer. Mr. <br />Alton Hess also appeared before the Council in behalf of the petition for paving. <br />Director of Public Works, Dan Brotton, appeared before the Council and discussed <br />the project. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that the project would be placed in the <br />five year plan, and which would probably lead to a bond issue in the future. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request for rate increase from Texas Power & <br />Light Company and recommended that the proposed rate schedule be suspended for <br />120 days. <br />r— Resolution No. 2086 suspending the rate schedule of the Texas Power & Light <br />Company for a period of 120 days for further study, investigation, receipt <br />of evidence and a public hearing was presented. A motion was made by Council- <br />man Burnett, seconded by Councilman Kyle for adoption of the Resolution. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />r <br />
