8 QRDINANCE NO. 2559 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, <br />CLARIFYING AND BROADENING THE NAME AND DEFINITION OF SPECIFIC USE PERMIT NO. 12; <br />PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS <br />OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL, <br />1, 1981. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman <br />Burnett for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for amendments to zoning <br />Ordinance: Dale Mayhugh, Lot 4, City Block A, Greenbriar Addition, petitioning <br />a change from a One Family Dwelling No. 2, to SF -2 and Specific Use Permit -Day <br />Care District; Mr. Rance Merritt, Lot 1, Block C, Meadow Park Addition, petition- <br />ing for a change from a One Family Dwelling District SF -2 to a Two Family Dwelling <br />District 2F; A. B. Spann, Lot 3 and 3A, Block 192 from a SF -2 District to a SF -3 <br />District. <br />Mayor Malone referred the petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission for <br />their study and recommendations, and called for a public hearing at the next <br />regular Council meeting. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the next order of business was consideration of <br />recommendations made by the Traffic Commission, and advised that the Traffic <br />Commission had recommended that stops signs be placed in the median between north <br />and south bound lanes of Loop 286 and Pine Mill Road, after discussion, a motion <br />was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Burnett authorizing pre- <br />paration of an Ordinance concerning the stop signs. The motion carried 7 ayes, <br />o nays. <br />Mayor Malone called for the second reading of an Ordinance revising the Lone Star <br />Gas Company's Franchise Ordinance. <br />FRANCHISE ORDINANCE: <br />AN ORDINANCE GRANTING THE LONE STAR GAS COMANY, A CORPORATION, ITS SUCCESSORS <br />AND ASSIGNS, A FRANCHISE TO FURNISH AND SUPPLY GAS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN <br />THE CITY OF PARIS, LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS, AND THE ENVIRONS THEREOF; PROVIDING <br />FOR THE PAYMENT OF A FEE OR CHARGE FOR THE USE OF THE STREETS, ALLEYS AND <br />PUBLIC WAYS, AND PROVIDING THAT IT SHALL BE IN LIEU OF OTHER FEES AND CHARGES, <br />EXCEPTING AD VALOREM TAXES. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Wortham approving the Ordinance on second reading. The motion carried 7 ayes, <br />0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes read the following Ordinance authorizing the issuance of <br />Certificates of Obligation for Waste Water Facilities. <br />ORDINANCE: <br />ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION <br />Mayor Malone stated that this was not a public hearing but invited comments from <br />the audience.
